I was searching the Rootsweb archives for the Norfolk-l mailing list and found your posts as below.

This is the first time I have found anybody else researching Thomas Collins GARRARD! I am descended from his son Samuel.

I have the marriage of Thomas to Eleanor OLLEY in 1835 at St John Paddington, London found after another OLLEY researcher told me that Thomas Collins Garrard was the witness to marriage of her ancestor Caroline OLLEY m 1853 also at St John Paddington.

Caroline's father was William OLLEY cabinet Maker. William and Caroline were witnesses at Thomas & Eleanor's marriage. It seems that Caroline was bapt at Marylebone, London and I suspect that she is Eleanor's sister. What makes you think that Eleanor was born in Great Yarmouth as all censuses I have found give her birthplace in London (Hampstead or St Pancras)?

I am unable to easily get to Norfolk record office and I found the above in the one visit I have made. There doesn't seem to be a baptism for James GARRARD at Great Yarmouth, although the IGI shows several James GARRARDs being bapt in Norfolk at the appropriate time.

Somebody has sent me the details of a possible burial for James 7 Feb 1826 aged 53 at Great Yarmouth.

Thomas Collins GARRARD moved to London where he married Eleanor OLLEY at Paddington. Sometime between the 1841 and 1851 census he moved to 26 Parker St, Shoreditch, Middx and stayed there until his death in 1874. He was variously described as a warehouseman, Booksellers Assistant, Packer and a Booksellers Packer.

The eldest son of James and Mary, James Collins GARRARD/GARWOOD, seems to have stayed in Great Yarmouth where he married Eliza HOLLAWAY 15 Feb 1824.

Charles Collins GARRARD also moved to London as I have found him in the 1861 census at 12 Cross St, Bethnal Green, Middx with an occupation of bookbinder. He married a Louisa (prob Louisa MASTERTON according to the IGI). <<<
